What is your job title, and what does it mean?
My job title is the Senior Manager of Marketing Automation Email, which pertains to my role with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and working with healthcare and life science clients. I also manage a lot of the daily projects and communications throughout marketing automation and email.
How has Flying Cork helped with your career development?
Working here for 10 years, Flying Cork has been my career development. When I started here, I didn’t have any experience working in an agency. I came in and just wanted to do anything to get my foot in the door, raise my hand, volunteer, and just get more experience. Working with Jude and our largest healthcare client has allowed me to really get into marketing automation.
Digital marketing even wasn’t something that you could learn about in school when I graduated from college, so it’s all been hands on learning and looking at the job.
More recently, I have been taking the PMP Certification, which is a project management certification. Flying Cork has paid for the coursework and the book and will eventually pay for the exam, so I really haven’t stopped developing my career here.
Favorite thing to do in the Pittsburgh area?
My husband and I go to Moraine State Park which is about 45 minutes from the city. We like to ride our bikes around there, and they also have a big lake so we’ll use our stand-up paddleboards for the afternoon. We do that almost every weekend during the summertime.
Guilty pleasure?
I love buying shoes. Sneakers, flats, sandals…I just love shoes so much.
What is your most memorable commercial? Why?
Something that really sticks out to me were the Coca-Cola commercials that used to be released around Christmas time; they had little animated polar bears, and it would be a new animation each year. I remember when you would see those commercials and you would know that it was time for Christmas. They just trigger all of those memories of being a kid and being excited for school to be out, to see your family, and snow.
Something that might surprise us about you.
I am an avid rock climber. I’ve been climbing for about 13 years.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is being a part of the big picture but having the ability to break the bigger picture down into smaller projects. I’m a very organized, checklist-focused person, and I think that this work style fits well with my position as a manager.
First job or weirdest job you have had?
My first job was at Subway.
What is a Cork Popping Moment you’ve experienced while working at Flying Cork?
My cork-popping moment is being here for so long. I’ve seen a lot in my time here and being able to look back and see where we started, where we are now, and knowing where we want to go in the future is just a really great feeling.
